1000 Years From Now. Sandy

The 1000 Years From Now Sandy works were created by soaking the paper in sea salt water for 2-3 days. Dirt, and on some drawings, a sharp stone from the area from which it was collected was used to write Sandy numerous times on three layers of paper. This process was repeated until the paper was ripped and torn. The dirt was fixed with acrylic gel.

The Fires of the West, 2012

The names of the sites where fires occurred in the western United States during 2012 were written with a chef's créme brulee torch and charcoal.

The paper was first soaked with sea salt dissolved in water. The names of the passengers were written with India ink and a lettering brush using old fashioned script. The names of the crew were written in block letters with a 9H  graphite pencil

The names of everyone in our government in Washington—from President Obama down— were written with a 9H pencil. The names of all the corporations that send lobbyists to Washington were written with a 6B pencil.
